The CS-200 colorimeter can measure the brightness and chromaticity of various light-emitting products such as large-size plasma displays, small LCDs and LEDs, outdoor screens, high-pressure lamps, and instrument panels.

The new automatic mode can adjust the measurement speed according to the brightness of the measured object. It may not be possible to obtain the necessary accuracy when measuring at certain measurement speeds, especially in low-brightness situations. The new automatic mode will automatically select the best measurement speed to provide the best performance of the CS-200, making it easier to obtain higher measurement accuracy.

CS-200 can achieve high-precision luminance and chromaticity measurements comparable to spectroscopic instruments, while retaining the simple, easy-to-use and affordable characteristics of tristimulus instruments.
The CS-200 is equipped with 40 sensors and uses the spectral sensitivity characteristic curve (isochromatic function) that matches the sensitivity of the naked eye for calculation. Through this newly developed spectrum fitting method, it is possible to obtain more accurate tristimulus values (red, green, and blue XYZ) than traditional tristimulus colorimeters, achieving excellent accuracy.
It can measure a wide range of luminance levels (from a low luminance of 0.01 cd/m2 to a high luminance of 20,000,000 cd/m2, and the measurement angle is 0.1°).
Three measurement angles can be selected: 1°, 0.2° and 0.1°. The measurement angle can be switched according to the measured target (from the display device or other objects that need to be measured in a large area to the car audio control panel, car dashboard, and small LCD and other objects that need to be measured in a small area).

Application field

CS-200 can be used to measure all types of light sources, such as signal lights, traffic lights, airport lighting, lights, LEDs, picture tubes, LCDs, PDPs and almost all light-emitting objects. Due to the development of information technology business, the market's demand for diversified media has gradually increased, coupled with the expansion of comprehensive digital broadcasting services, the research and development of various display devices centered on plasma displays and LCDs has accelerated. The innovation of LED technology has brought major breakthroughs in the development of LED products, including traffic lights, reflective LCD backlights and large outdoor display screens.

Background knowledge

There are two ways to determine the grayscale and chromaticity values of the light source:
The tristimulus type instrument uses three sensors (red, green, and blue) to measure the light source. The sensitivity of these sensors is similar to the sensitivity of the naked eye to light. The filters used to achieve this sensitivity have limited accuracy, so tristimulus instruments cannot provide accurate readings for all types of light sources. If a certain spectral distribution (similar to the spectral distribution of the light source used to calibrate the instrument) is used to measure the light source, better accuracy can be achieved.
CS-200 uses this second method. This method measures the spectral emissivity of the light source and uses the spectral sensitivity characteristic curve (isochromatic function) that matches the sensitivity of the naked eye for calculation. By using this method, the filter mismatch can be avoided and more accurate measurement results can be obtained.
